Fazenda Bio-Dorf

Welcome to a free world on Brazil's dream beaches

The Fazenda Bio-Village project is a German-Brazilian settlement initiative aiming to build a village community of 150 to 300 residents. So far, most residents speak German and Portuguese, as the village project is designed to be bilingual. Of course, people of other nationalities are also very welcome.

The Bio-Village is a project for those who wish to live a free and self-determined life within a village community. In the midst of paradisiacal, untouched nature, we have created a fazenda with a village for families who want to live healthily and close to nature, raising their children according to their own values. It is a safe and protected place, far from potential crisis scenarios and free from governmental control or coercive measures. Surrounding the area, in the local fishing villages, life is still peaceful — a world where mutual support, humanity, and respect truly matter.

Trading working hours for quality of life

The Bio-Village is also a modern-day Noah’s Ark for singles, couples, retirees, and especially self-employed individuals, offering a place where one can secure a spot. Whether it’s to spend a few months a year here, work remotely (with fast, reliable internet), or even to protect one’s assets from potential expropriation in the EU, the Bio-Village is an ideal option.

Those who emigrate and work online can enjoy a good life here with a minimal tax burden—instead of spending over half their working hours feeding a “government octopus” that makes a free life impossible. Unlike the bureaucratic EU, self-employment is encouraged here—in the true land of unlimited opportunities. If you're looking to trade working hours for quality of life, this is the right place!

The warm year-round climate (25–30°C) with a constant fresh breeze, the world-famous dream beaches, and the wide range of water sports available speak for themselves. Just seven hours by plane from Lisbon and only 110 km (about 1.5 hours) from the airport, this is one of the fastest and easiest parts of Brazil to reach from Europe.

We are not building a village – we are building a new society!

We see ourselves as part of a greater societal vision: the creation of a new and largely decentralized, autonomous society in the form of cooperating village communities and free cities. As a family, we left the corrupt and decadent EU system three years ago to create a new way of life—one filled with meaning and genuine human connection.

We are building one of the “Gallic villages” as a safe haven where people can live authentically, in harmony with nature, and as part of a close-knit community. To this end, we live by certain traditions and values, which we nurture and protect. At the same time, we are integrated into the social life of the surrounding villages through numerous friendships and connections, and the Bio-Village is well known and appreciated locally.

The Bio-Village has become a cultural and spiritual center in the region, hosting international seminars and events, and regularly welcoming school groups to learn about the agroforestry system. Under the protected trademark Bio-Dorf™, we already distribute healthy and fairly produced food products.

The Fazenda (farm)

The entire fazenda (farm) is located between two lakes suitable for swimming and water sports, just 4 km from the beach, and currently spans 175 hectares. A large portion of the land is actively cultivated with coconut palms, sheep, cattle, chickens, bees, fruit trees, and various organic crops. We produce our own organic food for sale, for use in our organic restaurant, and for our own consumption.

Thanks to abundant water resources, a well-developed irrigation system, and several hectares of fertile terra preta soil, we can quickly achieve self-sufficiency for many people. In addition, there is still plenty of potential for further cultivation and for developing aquatic areas for fish farming and more.

The main village area is located on a protected plot of 43 hectares (plus water area), bordering Lake Almeçegas with 750 meters of shoreline, partially with sandy beach. The quiet and vastness of the fazenda, with its eternal summer and ocean breeze (year-round 25–32°C due to its proximity to the equator), offers an oasis for reconnecting with oneself and with nature. The entire design, including eco-houses built from natural and regional materials, supports a healthy lifestyle in harmony with the environment. At the same time, it’s not far from small towns for shopping or the lively fishing villages popular on weekends. Fortaleza (1.5 hours away), with its 4 million inhabitants, offers extensive shopping options as well as excellent hospitals and healthcare.

The previously run-down fazenda was purchased in July 2021 and has since been transformed through great effort into a fully equipped village with complete infrastructure. There are already 11 eco-homes sold or rented, a luxury campsite with 6 tents and 2 traditional clay houses, sanitation and cooking facilities, a restaurant, seminar room, observation deck, public organic restaurant and beach area, boat dock with pier, pools, adventure playgrounds, forest, bike paths, and more.

Anyone interested in joining can purchase a plot of land in the palm grove ranging from 500 to 1600 square meters to build their own home, or buy a fully equipped wooden or stone house. The Bio-Village is not a “commune” but guarantees maximum individuality and freedom for all residents—offering meaningful and positive neighborhood connections within a village setting.

Our Intention

The Fazenda Bio-Village project is a non-profit initiative. With this project, we aim to build a society rooted in humanity and create a natural, safe place where our children can grow up.

The founders personally advanced the necessary funds from their private savings to purchase the land and develop the entire infrastructure, covering all costs for materials, machinery, staff, and services. The project is fully independent from banks and free of debt. It also receives no support from the government, foundations, or similar institutions—by choice—so that it can remain entirely autonomous and self-determined.

The proceeds from land sales are intended to cover all past and future costs related to the overall project. Any potential future surplus will be 100% reinvested into infrastructure, agroforestry reforestation, additional land acquisition, cultural initiatives, education, and similar developments within the Fazenda Bio-Village. Additionally, funds will support social and ecological projects in the surrounding communities.

The founders have no profit-driven motives with this project.
